ACM Core Types
The core determines fire performance and building code compliance. We stock all three.
PE Core (Polyethylene)
Standard ACM. Works for signage, interiors, and exterior cladding where combustible materials are allowed. Not for high-rise or non-combustible construction.
FR Core (Fire-Retardant)
Mineral-filled core with better fire performance. Classified B-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1. Used on mid-rise buildings when installed as part of a tested NFPA 285 wall assembly.
A2 Core (Non-Combustible)
Over 90% mineral content. Classified A2-s1,d0 under EN 13501-1. Meets CAN/ULC-S114 for non-combustible materials.
Required for:
- Buildings over 18 metres (OBC)
- Non-combustible construction
- Limited spatial separation
